Sgt. Susanne Hawker has been serving the Seneca Falls community since September of 1994 when she was hired as a police officer for the Village of Seneca Falls Police Department. At the time of her hiring, Sgt. Hawker was the first female police officer to be employed by the Village of Seneca Falls Police Department. Sgt. Hawker served the community as a police officer until December 31, 2011, when she was promoted to the supervisory rank of sergeant for the newly established Town of Seneca Falls Police Department. Sgt. Hawker has received additional training in Interview and Interrogation, Drug Investigation, and Tactical Medical Care Provider training. Sgt. Hawker is a graduate of Cayuga Community College, having attained an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice. She received her academy training at the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy and training as a police supervisor from the Village of Solvay Police Department. Sgt. Hawker is also a recipient of the Life Saving Award, given to a police officer that goes above and beyond the performance of his or her official duties in order to save an individual’s life.
